Olen Preston Hutchins, 79, of Clanton died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born on Friday, Nov. 27, 1931, in Bibb County, son of the late Thomas Vester Hutchins and the late Sarah Mittie Pearl Oglesby Hutchins.

He was a minister.

Surviving are his wife, Ann Hutchins of Clanton; two sons, Olen (Mary) Preston Hutchins Jr. of Clanton and Ray Cobern of Clanton; three daughters, Kay (Ronald) Turner of Tallassee, Mary (David) Neece of Verbena and Peggy Windham of Clanton; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Joe Lee (Lora) Hutchins of Kentucky and Donald (Ann) Hutchins of Centreville.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Sims.

Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 5 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 5 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Baptist Cemetery in Verbena.
