Runners and walkers will take to the streets Nov. 19 to raise money for Billingsley School’s elementary special education department.

The school is sponsoring its first “Turkey Trot” 5K Run on Saturday, Nov. 19. Check-in and same day registration will start at 7:30 a.m. at the school. The start of the race will follow at 8 a.m.

There will be a $20 registration fee for the general public. That fee will be lowered to $10 for Billingsley students. An adult must accompany any student younger than 15.

Participants do not have to run to sign up for the event — walkers are welcomed.

The deadline to register and receive a T-shirt is Wednesday, Nov. 2. People can still register after the deadline, but they may not receive a T-shirt.

Entry forms are available at the school, from teachers and students and at The Clanton Advertiser office. Completed entry forms and registration fees may be dropped off at the school or mailed to “Attn: Turkey Trot 5K Run, 2446 County Road 77, Billingsley, AL 36006.” Make checks payable to Billingsley School.
