The United Methodist Women will hold their annual Soup Day on Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Clanton First United Methodist Church.
The event will be in the Helen E. Parrish Activity Center at CFUMC.
Each meal is $5 per person and includes hot vegetable beef soup, cornbread, dessert and a drink.
Takeout plates and homemade baked goods will be available for purchase as well.
Lynn Best, CFUMC office manager, said the UMW have held a soup day for more than 50 years.
“We use the money we raise for our mission work,” Best said. “It’s just a great time for fellowship and a time for our community to get together and enjoy a good meal at a reasonable price.”
Best, also a UMW member, said Soup Day is the only fundraiser the group hosts, but all proceeds from the sales of soup and baked goods benefit missions.
“We always host it on Election Day,” Best said. “We just hope that everyone will come and fellowship with us and have good, homemade soup.”
