For the past three years, Chilton County has had a queen devoted to serving and representing the “Age of Elegance,” those who are age 60-plus.

The 2011 queen, Reba Tucker, has taken the task of speaking out on senior issues and serving her county not only with pride but also with great honor — but the time has come to look forward to 2012 for the next lady who will step into her shoes and carry on the title.

The pageant is broken down into five parts where ladies age 60-plus compete. Interview accounts for 30 percent, evening wear 20 percent, philosophy of life 20 percent, talent 25 percent and opening number 5 percent.

This pageant has become the most talked about pageant in the state for women 60-plus receiving accolades from directors and board members at both state and national levels.

The board of Ms. Senior Chilton County invites the public and any woman age 60 and above to join them at the Thorsby Annex building on Nov. 9 for the first of two showings of the 2011 Ms. Senior Chilton County DVD.

The DVD will begin at 10 a.m. and will be the first opportunity for ladies who are interested to pick up a hard copy of their application.
