Verma C. “Granny” Collins Gore, age 91, died on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, in Lexington.

She is survived by a son, Walter Gore of Michigan; a daughter, Jo Ann Wood of Lexington; a sister, Evelyn Jackson of Alabama; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gore; and a son, Charles Wayne Gore.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. at Reed’s Chapel in Lexington. A graveside service will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Clanton on Thursday at 11 a.m. There will also be a visitation at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton on Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m.
