Women’s conference comes to Clanton

Hopewell Baptist Church in Clanton is hosting an annual event called “Women in Balance Conference 2011” Nov. 10 and 11 at Hopewell Baptist Church and Nov. 12 at Jefferson State Community College in Clanton.

Special guests include comedian D.T. Owens on Thursday, Nov. 10; evangelist Mary Page on Friday, Nov. 11; and performer Vickie Winans on Saturday, Nov. 12.

“Women in Balance” is an annual women’s conference established in Washington D.C. in 2002 that focuses on women reaching their full potential and balancing the daily stresses associated with family, marriage and career.

“The goal of this conference is to empower, impart and encourage each woman to actively pursue their destiny in God without compromising their relationship with the Father,” said event coordinator Theresa Sailes. “Women in Balance 2011 offers many ministries for people of all ages and walks of life who are looking to strengthen their relationship with Christ.”

A three-day pass for the conference is $65 plus tax, a concert-only pass is $35 plus tax and tickets for children 12 and under are $25 plus tax.

Tickets are available for purchase now through Nov. 12.
