Michael “Mickey” Lane Scott, 63, of Clanton died Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at VA Medical Center in Birmingham.

He was born Monday, March 29, 1948, in Chilton County, son of the late Vernon Scott and the late Katie Johnson Scott.

He was a contractor.

Surviving are his three daughters, Misha (Kerry) Powell of Clanton, Melisha (Kevin) Clark of Clanton and Makesha (Ryan Cleckley) Scott of Clanton; grandson, Gavin Powell of Clanton; granddaughter, Ayla Powell of Clanton; sister, Arrita (Erby) Varner of Clanton; two brothers, Percy (Tootsie) Scott of Clanton and Douglas (Joyce) Scott of Clanton; and special companion, Eva Mims of Clanton.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Friday, Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Martin and the Rev. Tony Smitherman officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin  Memorial Cemetery in Clanton. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society. Martin Funeral Home directing.
