Tigers keep playoff hopes alive

Chilton County pulled away from Wilcox-Central in the second half of Friday’s game and won, 41-12, to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The score was 20-12 CCHS at halftime on the strength of a 43-yard Dyquan Floyd rushing touchdown, an 8-yard scoring pass from Chance Britnell to Vadall Morrow, and a 46-yard Morrow punt return for a TD.

Then the Chilton defense stiffened, holding host Wilcox (1-7 overall, 0-6 region) without a first down in the second half.

Scoring for the Tigers (2-6, 2-4) in the second half were Chase Brown, on a 1-yard run followed by a 2-point conversion pass from Britnell to Michael Seaton; Frank Bonagura, on a 2-yard run followed by an Anthony Chavez extra point; and T.J. Wright, on a 10-yard run.
