Horace Franklin Smith, 78, of Clanton died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.
He was born Tuesday, Sept. 19, 1933, in Clanton, son of the late Dock Smith and the late Lillie Mae Ellison Smith.
He was a teacher.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille Walker of Clanton; two daughters, Jane (Steve) Fleming of Birmingham and Kate Smith of Arab; two granddaughters, Sabrina (Bruce) Long of McCalla and Aysha (Josh) Stewart of Arab; two grandsons, Daniel (Candice) Cleckley of Calera and Sean Fleming of Birmingham; great-grandchildren, Allie Long, Landon Long and Danica Cleckley; and brother, Herchel Smith of Clanton.
Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. at Chilton Memorial with the Rev. Larry Anderson officiating.
