The color pink will join Maplesville High’s traditional red and black in a “Pink Out” pep rally on Oct. 21 to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month and benefit the school’s Relay For Life team.

The pep rally is open to the public and will start at 11 a.m. in the MHS gym.

The varsity cheerleaders will pre-sell “Pink Out” T-shirts, visors and caps, and other Breast Cancer Awareness items will be available for purchase as well. All proceeds go to the MHS Relay For Life team.

Jeannie Smith, a representative of the Chilton County Relay For Life Committee, said area survivors and those who have lost their lives to cancer will be recognized during the pep rally.

Smith said she will be there to help distribute information on breast cancer awareness and the Chilton County Relay For Life event in April.

“It is definitely open to everyone,” Smith said.
