Mary Elizabeth McClain Addison, 96, of Clanton died Friday, Sept.  23, 2011, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton. She was born Thursday, April 15, 1915, in Jackson County, Fla., the daughter of the late James Madison McClain and the late Malzie Davis McClain. She was a school attendant. She was of the Freewill Baptist Faith.

Surviving are her daughter, Betty Jean Frater of Clanton; granddaughter, Donna Frater (Kenny) Hall of Verbena; two great-grandchildren, Laura Pauline Hall of Verbena and Mary Elizabeth Hall of Verbena; two brother-in-laws, Thomas Milton Addison of Panama City, Fla. and David Addison of Macon, Ga.; and many nieces and  nephews that she considered her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters; husband, R.Q. Addison, and son-in-law, Robert C. Frater.

Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at Crossroads Baptist Church in Cottondale, Fla.

Services will be held Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at  11 a.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church in Cottondale, Fla. Interment will follow in Pilgrims Rest in Cottondale, Fla.
