Passing chance: Isabella’s Heather Posey passes the ball during Monday’s match at Chilton County High School while teammates look on.

Isabella’s volleyball team picked up its 18th win of the season Monday—and its coach’s 350th career win over the weekend—but coach Glen Graham said the sixth-ranked Mustangs still have room for improvement.

“We’ve got to find the intensity that we had last week,” Graham said. “We have been great; we’ve shown we can. We’ve just got to do it consistently.”

Ready for it: Chilton County’s Keondra Looney, Keona DeJarnett and Diana Guerrero get set for an Isabella serve during Monday’s match.

IHS topped Chilton County on Monday, 3-1 (23-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-22).

Savannah Kissel and Landy Griffith each had 14 kills for Isabella, and Heather Posey recorded 21 assists.

Keondra Looney had 10 kills and eight digs for CCHS (4-8), and Kacy Sanders assisted on 17 points.

Graham won his 350th match of his career in Isabella’s first contest of a tournament Saturday.

The Mustangs beat Billingsley, 2-0, and would also defeat Dadeville, 2-0, before falling to tournament champion McAdory, 2-0.

Allison Mims had 27 digs and three aces in three tournament games, while Khadijah Craig contributed 11 kills, 10 aces and two blocks.
