Maplesville is ranked No. 9 in Class 1A in the preseason poll compiled by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.

The Red Devils last season went unbeaten until a visit to Linden in the third round of the state playoffs, finishing with a 12-1 record and a No. 5 ranking.

Chilton County will visit Jemison at 7 p.m. on Aug. 25 for the first local game of the season; Maplesville will host Vincent on Aug. 26.
