Wilma Brand Martin Connell, age 89 of Clanton, passed away on Aug. 4, 2011, at Chilton Medical Center.

She was born on April 2, 1922, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Delbert Brand and the late Cuba Jones Brand.

Mrs. Connell was retired from Bell South as a telephone operator.

She is survived by: husband, Tony Connell of Clanton; sister, Evelyn McGuire of Clanton; sister, Betty Olive of Mobile; stepson, Randy Connell of Clanton; stepson, Danny Connell of Clanton; stepson, Joey Connell of Clanton; stepdaughter, Sharon Connell Bean of Clanton; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 5-8 p.m. at Ellison-Mims Funeral Home in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 7 at 3 p.m. from Friendship Baptist Church in Clanton with the Rev. Ken Daniel and the Rev. Bobby Hopper officiating.

Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
