Martha Ann Moates, age 69 of Clanton, passed away on July 31, 2011, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Autauga County, the daughter of the late Lesley Campbell and the late Claudie Mae Copburn Campbell.

Mrs. Moates was a devoted homemaker.

She is survived by: son, Bobby (Donna) Moates of Clanton; son, Tim (Bonnie) Moates of Clanton; daughter, Sheila (Richard) Smith of Jemison; son, Wendell (Kim) Moates of Clanton; daughter, Rhonda (Johnny) Roper of Jemison; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Omega Tatum, Voncille Howard, Jeanette Wiggs and Gertie Owens; and brothers, Marvin Campbell and Jamie Campbell.

She is preceded in death by husband, Bobby Joe Moates; grandson, Heath Smith; and great-grandson, Keilan Moates.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 2 at 11 a.m. from New Hope Assembly of God Church in Clanton, with the Rev. Edward Wilson officiating. The body will be in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
