Two adults were transported to area hospitals Thursday morning following an accident on Interstate 65.

The woman and her male passenger were traveling north on I-65 when their Chevy pick-up truck overturned just before 11 a.m.

The accident happened a few feet past Exit 208 and the Lake Mitchell Road overpass. Their truck was the only vehicle involved, and the cause of the wreck remains under investigation.

One person was transported to Chilton Medical Center, while the other was being taken to either Shelby Baptist Medical Center or UAB.

Fire chief David Driver described their injuries as moderate and critical, though not life-threatening.

Clanton Fire and Rescue, Clanton Police, and RPS and CARE ambulances responded to the scene.
