The North Chilton Orioles 11-and-under team defeated Marietta, Ga., 15-5, on Friday to open their appearance in the Dizzy Dean World Series in Jackson County, Ga.

Ryan Fransler pitched three innings and hit a home run.

Will Johns also hit a home run.

Diquon Lane and Grayson Bice both went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Cain Niece pitched two innings for the Orioles, who will play host Jackson County and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
