Steve Edward Davenport, age 54 of Clanton, passed away suddenly on June 21, 2011, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.

He was born July 22, 1956, in Chilton County, the son of the late James Edward Davenport and the late Pearlie Mae Dutton Davenport.

Steve is survived by: son, Brian Edward Davenport of Clanton; daughter, Melissa Dawn Davenport of Clanton; brother, James Earl Davenport of Jemison; sister, Shirley Davenport of Jemison; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: wife, Carolyn Porter Davenport; and daughter, Crystal Carol Davenport.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Ellison-Mims Funeral home in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 23 at 3 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Mims Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Parker and the Rev. William Clayton officiating.

Burial will follow in Robinson Springs Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.

The family requests no flowers but that contributions be made to help with funeral expenses.
