Fourth of July celebrations scheduled

Several firework shows, parades and other events will take place in Chilton County in observance of the Fourth of July.

The town of Thorsby will hold their annual Fourth of July Celebration on Saturday, July 2 beginning at 7 p.m. at Richard Wood Memorial Park. Several churches from the community will partner and have prayers from different pastors along with music, barbecue and other activities to celebrate the holiday.

Free water will be provided, and those who attend are asked to bring their own chairs. The program will last about an hour, and a fireworks show will follow the program.

Clanton’s annual firework show will be Monday, July 4 at 9 p.m. at City Park.

Also, Lake Mitchell Home Owners and Boat Owners will hold its annual Cargile Creek Fourth of July fireworks show at 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 3. The show will be synched to music and will last 20 minutes.

The Lake Mitchell Pontoon Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, July 4. The parade will begin at Higgins Ferry Park.

The Powerboat Parade will begin at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 4, and will begin at Blue Creek.
