Billy Jack Tipton, 79, of Clanton died Monday, June 13, 2011.

He was born Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1931, in Albertville, son of the late Hubert Calvin Tipton and the late Bessie Lee Stagner Tipton.

He was an Alabama State Trooper.

Surviving are his wife, Bobbie Ruth Tipton of Clanton; three daughters, Jackie (Ralph) Sanders of Clanton, Dorothy Kay (Jim) Phillips of Prattville and Barbara (Larry) Bice of Clanton; two sons, Hubert (Yoko) Tipton of Africa and James (Shannon) Tipton of Clanton; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, June 14 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 15 at 10 a.m. at Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton with the Rev. Charles Brooks officiating. Martin Funeral Home directing.
