The 27th annual Roy Wood Peach Festival Art Show and Sale will be on display in the Peoples Southern Bank lobby from Thursday, June 23 through Wednesday, June 29.

This annual event encourages art in the Clanton area and is a way to bring arts and culture into the community.

All works entered in the exhibit must be original, dry, framed and complete with wire ready to hang. Drawings, watercolors, pastels and any works on paper must be matted, framed and complete with wire ready to hang. The bank is not responsible for the artist’s works in case of damage but will make every effort to protect artists’ works.

This competition gives all interested artists in the area an opportunity to let their works be seen by their friends and people interested in art.

The subject matter of these works may be pertaining to the peach industry (blooms, fruit, picking, packing etc.) or a subject of the artist’s choosing. The painting must have been painted within the last two years and must not have been entered in the show before. Your entry must be an original. It cannot be a copy.

Any interested Chilton County artist is eligible to enter two works in the competition.

An entry fee of $5 must accompany each work (make checks payable to Peoples Southern Bank), and are to be paid when paintings are submitted. Entry blanks may be acquired at Peoples Southern Bank.

First prize is $100, second prize is $75, third prize is $50 and honorable mention is $25; and all awards are given for the junior and senior division winners.

Artwork can be submitted at Peoples Southern Bank on Wednesday, June 22 from noon until 2 p.m. and are to be brought to the parking lot entrance.
