Peach season kicks off at Durbin’s

A ribbon cutting was held at Durbin Farms Market for the grand opening of Chilton County’s 2011 Peach Season.
The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce and friends gathered Friday morning at Durbin Farms market to officially kick-off the 2011 peach season.

97.7 The Peach radio station conducted a live broadcast from the site encouraging everyone to come out to the event, and the Chilton County Extension Office administered information on preservation.
As residents and visitors shopped for produce, samples of fresh peaches, apples, watermelon, cantaloupe and peach cider were available.
