Lemma McFarland Pugh, age 98, of Selma, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011.
She is preceded in death by her parents: James D. McFarland and Lester Lovelady McFarland; husband: Dennis Pugh; daughter: Ruth Pugh Russell; sisters: Bonnie Latham, Cecil Latham and Ella Sue Green; brothers: Ted McFarland, Jim Jack McFarland and Lester McFarland; and son-in-law: Oliver Sewell.
Survivors include her daughters: Virginia Williams and Mabel Sewell; a son: Jimmy Pugh and his wife Martha; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Pugh was a shop steward for the AFL-CIO and later a district representative at All-Lock.
During her retirement she was a volunteer pink lady for Selma Medical Center.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 2 at 10 a.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Burial will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Mark Sewell, John Sewell, Christopher Sewell, Wayne Vinson, Derrell Lawrence and Keith Lawrence. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Russell and David Russell.
