Thorsby’s water system is back up and running as normal after a 15-year-old water pump in one of their wells had to be pulled and replaced because of wear and tear.

Thorsby Mayor Dear Hilyer and Public Works Director Terry Jackson asked Jemison and Thorsby residents on Monday to conserve water this week because there was only one operating pump.

“Everyone can wash their cars and water their grass now,” said Jackson. “We’ve fixed it, and everything is back at 100 percent.”
