Mims, Wallace named East-West MVPs

Billingsley's Preston Wallace was named the Most Valuable Player for the Autauga County all-star team at Saturday's East-West Baseball event.

Stephen Mims of Thorsby and Preston Wallace were named team Most Valuable Players at Saturday’s East-West Baseball exhibition event.

Mims’ Chilton County all-star team fell to Shelby County, 6-5, and to Autauga County, 10-3.

Wallace played on the Autauga team, which also lost to Shelby, 5-3.

Wallace went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and one run batted in during the win over Chilton.

Chilton County got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning, trailing 3-0, when Jemison’s Kyle Dennis singled through the right side of the infield to score Maplesville’s James Madsen.

Chilton County scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
