Madeline Woodfin Courtney, 94, of Clanton died Friday, May 20, 2011.

She was born Thursday, Nov. 2, 1916, in Coosa County, the daughter of the late Charlie Woodfin and the late Marinda Melton Woodfin.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are three sons, Marty (Julia) Courtney of Verbena, Kenny (Ann) Courtney of Clanton and Charles (Margaret) Courtney of Verbena;  six grandchildren, Michelle Evans, Rachael Penton, Elizabeth Whipple, Clay Courtney, Kevin Courtney and Britney Freeman; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Courtney.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Sunday, May 22 at  2 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Baptist Cemetery in Verbena.
