Loryn Alexandria Brown, 21, a resident of Wetumpka, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 2 at 2 p.m. from New Home Baptist Church in Elmore with the Rev. Rory McQueen and the Rev. Walter Batyski officiating. Interment will follow in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Ellison Funeral Home directing.
Survivors are her parents, Dewayne and Ashley Mims, Wetumpka; Shannon and Michelle Brown, Madison; grandparents, Rex and Carolyn Denham, Wetumpka; Jerry and Ann Brown, Greensboro; Wayne and Anita Mims, Jemison; Bobby and Hilda Collins, Greensboro; great-grandmother, Libby Ruth Thornell, Eclectic; two brothers, Parker Mims, Wetumpka and Collin Brown, Madison; three sisters, Holly Mims, Wetumpka, Anna Kathryn Brown, Madison and Anna Lynn Mims, Wetumpka; aunts and uncles: Steve and Kelley Brown, Millbrook; Jimmy and Stephanie Richey, Greensboro; Chris and Christie Denham, Kalua, Hawaii; Lee and Amber Collins, Demopolis; Mark and Stephanie Mims, Jemison; Nikki Mims, Jemison; and several cousins.
Active pallbearers will be Clayton Jones, Dustin Ward, Steven Preyar, Trey Wade, Brian Bishop and Brandon Tribble. Honorary pallbearers will be Parker Mims, Collin Brown, John Michael Richey, Eli Richey, Chad Richey, Joey Denham, Jarrod Giles, Dustin Mims and Brady White.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to The Loryn Brown Scholarship Fund at The University of Alabama c/o Regions Bank.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 1 from 4-8 p.m. at New Home Baptist Church, Elmore.
Loryn was a member of New Home Baptist Church of Elmore. She graduated from Edgewood Academy in 2008. Loryn attended Shelton State University and was scheduled to begin at the University of Alabama in August 2011.
