Mr. James Douglas Grant, age 73 of Cooper, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at his home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 1 at Ellison-Mims Memorial Chapel at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Smith, the Rev. Tony Christensen and the Rev. Jimmy Simpler officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 30 from 5-8 p.m.

Mr. Grant is survived by: wife, Shirley Grant of Cooper; son, Michael (Kim) Grant of Clanton; daughter, Debra (Marvin) Watts of Montevallo; daughter, Judy (Tim) Richards of Verbena; sister, Romie Adams of Verbena; 11 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Church of God Cemetery. Final care and arrangements entrusted to Ellison Mims Funeral Home.
