John Gasson (second from left) and Cameron Morrow (third from left) spoke to the Rotary Club of Chilton County on Wednesday about their experiences at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards at Camp ASCCA from March 31 through April.
Gasson, a senior at Thorsby, and Morrow, a Maplesville junior, were selected by the local Rotary Club from numerous applicants.
In addition to participating the leadership themed camp, Gasson and Morrow each received a $1,000 scholarship to the school of their choice.
“I did learn a lot from the camp, and I brought a lot of that back with me,” Gasson said.
Morrow said camp activities taught teamwork and that he enjoyed learning more about the organization that gave him the opportunity.
“I learned so much about the Rotary Club,” Morrow said.
Gasson and Morrow are shown with Rotary Club President Russ Hamlin, left, and club member Steve Yeargan, who coordinated the club’s RYLA efforts.
