It’s that time of year again for Collins Chapel Baptist Church’s annual Community Block Party.

Everyone is invited to join in the fun, games food and fellowship with the church Saturday, April 30 at Collins Chapel Fire Station and Community Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Last year, we had 150 people to come through the gate and we are hoping to do better this year,” said Dennis Pike, a member of Collins Chapel Baptist Church and organizer of the event. “We made some contacts at the event last year (the event’s first) and our church has grown because of that. We’re just trying to reach the community.”

Free hot dog lunches will be served from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

There will be numerous games, activities and goodie bags. The event will also have a balloon artist and three inflatable bounce houses for the children.

Numerous door prizes will be given away for adults to enjoy.

Pastor William Kee will be the inspirational speaker of the event.

“This is an outreach for our church and we had such a good turnout last year we are going to make an annual event out of it,” said Pike. “All are welcome.”
