Time is winding down for parents to register children for next year’s Clanton Elementary Pre-K program.

CES’s Pre-K class registration deadline is Friday, April 29. Parents who are interested are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

The classes will accommodate 36 children, who have to be 4-years-old on or before Sept. 1.

“We usually offer one Pre-K class, but because we have had such a long waiting list (last year), this year we are offering two Pre-K classes,” said Maria Porter, CES teacher.

Parents can apply for the program by visiting the CES office.

Applications may be picked up at Clanton Elementary from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The child’s birth certificate, social security card, immunization records (blue slip) and a few other documents are needed at the time of registration.

Class participants will be selected through the lottery system on May 5, 2011.
