James Luther “J.L.” Adams, 86, of Clanton died Tuesday, April 19, 2011.

He was born Friday, Sept. 26, 1924, in Chilton County, son of the late Luther B. Adams and the late Camilla Easterling Adams.

He was a minister.

Surviving are his wife, Bobbie Adams of Clanton; two daughters, Brenda Davis of Cape Coral, Fla. and Alma Gay of Calera; son, Bonnie A. Adams of Ashville; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine Adams; and 14 brothers and sisters.

Friends will be received from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 21 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 21 at  11 a.m. at Refuge Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Brooks and the Rev. Robert Sandifer officiating.
