A tornado warning was issued Friday for portions of west, south and southeast Chilton County, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning extended from areas near Maplesville to Clanton and Verbena, and all areas south in the county.

It was advised that residents postpone travel if at all possible and get in a safe location, preferably in an inner room of a building with no windows.
