The chancel choir at Clanton First United Methodist Church has been invited to join a mass choir in Prattville for an Easter musical to be presented on Palm Sunday, April 17, at 6 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Prattville. The program will feature approximately 250 vocalists and an accompanying instrumental group.

“More Than a Carpenter,” a combination of old hymns and fresh, new Easter songs, will be directed by the composers, Dennis and Nan Allen. The Allens have written and arranged more than 50 Christmas and Easter musicals for adults, youth and children.

Greg Falkner, minister of music at Clanton FUMC, said, “It’s an honor to be asked to sing with such a large group of musicians – both vocal and instrumental. The opportunity to work with Nan and Dennis Allen is one you just can’t turn down. It’s not every day that you get to sing this caliber of music with 250 or more vocalists. We hope that folks from Chilton County will come down to hear us.”

“More Than a Carpenter” is free and open to the public. First Baptist Church of Prattville is located at 138 South Washington St. For information, contact any member of Clanton First United Methodist’s chancel choir or Mitch Loftin, minister of music at FBC Prattville, at 334-365-0606 or mitch.loftin@fbcprattville.org.
