A single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning claimed the life of a Billingsley woman.

The crash occurred at 2:15 a.m. on U.S. 82, eight miles west of the Prattville city limits. The 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo the victim was driving left the roadway and struck a tree, according to Alabama State Troopers.

The driver’s name is being withheld pending family notification.

The investigation is ongoing as of Thursday morning. No additional information was available at the time, troopers said.
