The Isabella Mustangs were poor hostesses as they defeated the Vincent Yellow Jackets, 7-4, on Thursday in softball action.

Vincent scored a run in the top of the first inning on a fielding error.

Isabella responded as Allison Mims scored when Kristin Adams hit into a fielder’s choice.

Vincent went quietly in the second, but Isabella added a run when Kacie Adams scored on a passed ball to take a 2-1 lead.

Vincent scored a run in the third to tie the game, but Isabella exploded for five runs in the fourth inning to take the lead 7-2, as Makaela Littleton, Allison Mims, Melony Smith, Chelsea Cox and Kaylynn Culp all crossed the plate.

Neither team scored in the fifth or sixth, but Vincent managed to score two more runs in the seventh before Isabella’s defense rose to the occasion and stymied the Yellow Jackets and earned a win.
