The New Options Program at Jefferson State Community College will be holding a free seminar Monday, April 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This will be the second seminar the program has held for adults who are thinking about beginning college for the first time, taking classes to update their skills before re-entering the workforce, getting a college degree to help get a better job, or continuing their education after being out of school for five years or more.

“We went to 19 different places to put up flyers and we put a lot of information out there,” said Ann Fulmer, New Options Program director. “People who are thinking about it we would love for them to come.”

Attendees will receive information on college admissions, financial aid and beginning college.

The New Options Program is open to adults single (25 or older); married, divorced or widowed; single parent or those with a GED.

“Anyone who is interested can call to pre-register or they can just come that night,” Fulmer said.

The seminar will be held at Jeff State’s Clanton campus in room 202. The campus is located at 1850 Lay Dam Road.
