Chilton Medical Center’s Senior Connection will travel to view the movie “Rebel Without a Cause” for their Monday at the Movies outing for the month on March 28.
Once a month, the connection members take a trip to Hoover’s Public Library Theater to watch movies and socialize with others from the area.
The event is free for members and includes snacks and drinks.
“It’s a social gathering and a part of our Senior Connection membership,” said Vanessa McKinney, director. “It’s a chance for the members to go out and have a good time, and is very important for the senior citizens, as well as anybody.”
Senior Connection member can attend the event by signing the list during the group’s exercise class.
For those interested in becoming a Senior Connection member, there is a $5 lifetime membership fee, said McKinney.
“Driving Miss Daisy” is one of the movies the group has viewed at the theater in the past.
“We’ve been doing this for several years now,” said McKinney. “We usually have 20-25 people participate in the movie night event.”
The group will depart for the movie on the Chilton County Transit at 10 a.m.
There is a $10 fee for riding the bus, and carpools are also available.
“It’s nice that Hoover Library provides this,” said McKinney. “It’s a service to the Hoover community and ours.”
