Isabella baseball on Monday split two games with Marbury, the state’s No. 9 team in Class 3A.
IHS won the first game, 17-6, behind a complete game pitching performance and home run by Austin Haigler, but lost the second game, 15-1.
Haigler struck out five Bulldogs in five innings pitched.
Haigler, Cody Smith and Tyler Smith all went 2-for-4 at the plate. Cody Smith drove in three runs, and Tyler Smith had two RBI.
Andrew Smith went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
Cody Smith walked in the first inning of the second game and was brought home by Haigler’s double, but that was the only run the Mustangs (5-13) could muster.
Isabella plays Sipsey Valley and Paul Bryant in Tuscaloosa on March 26.
