BHS leans on offense for two wins

Billingsley’s baseball team scored 47 runs in its past two games to even its record on the season at 3-3.
The Bears defeated Selma, 27-14, on Monday and Francis Marion, 20-1, on Tuesday.
Matt Lawrence went 4-for-4 against Selma with a three-run home run, three walks and five runs scored.
Donnie Smith also had four hits in the game, in seven at-bats, including two doubles.
Preston Wallace went 3-for-5, was hit by a pitch, took a walk and scored four runs; and Justin Snow finished 2-for-4 with two walks and four runs scored.
Dalton Acreman was the winning pitcher, allowing six runs in four innings.
The Bears scored 19 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning against Francis Marion to win their first region game of the year.
Cody Sloan went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs scored.
Acreman was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, five RBI and two runs.
Jay Coburn took three walks, stole two bases and scored two runs; and Nick Messer hit a double in three at-bats, drove in three runs and scored two.
Smith earned the win on the mound, allowing one hit. Smith hit a double in his only at-bat but also took three walks; he drove in three runs.
