Centurion has Chilton ties

Nova Lee Williams of Bertrand, Mo. turned 100 years old on Feb. 25, 2011.
She was born in Winston County on Feb. 25, 1911, the daughter of Walton Newton Jackson and Nora Jane Curtis Jackson.
She married Claude Lester Williams in 1928. They had four children, the oldest being the late Eulene Spearman of Thorsby. She and Ray Spearman had six children, all from Chilton County: Sue (Richard) Abernathy, Dianne (Alton) Wright, Ken (Freda) Spearman, Vicki (Robert) Bennett, Jim Spearman and Gary (Sharon) Spearman.
Eulene had 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, all from Chilton County.
Other children of Nova Lee include Margaret Morrow of Bertrand, Mo.; Elba Ness of Rochester, Ind.; and the late J.C. Williams.
Claude Lester Williams died in 1981.
Nova Lee, from her four children, has a total of 14 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren. She is a gifted seamstress, won a quilting contest, still crochets and was the perfect homemaker. She has also had articles written in books.
Her granddaughter, Sue, gave her the title of “best grandmother in the world.”
She maintains that title with descendants from many states.
