Lomax Assembly members run marathon

Eight members of Lomax Assembly of God ran in the 10th annual Mercedes Marathon and Half Marathon on Feb. 13 in Birmingham.

Members of Lomax Assembly of God ran the Mercedes Marathon or half marathon.

The group ran to benefit Speed The Light, a student-initiated volunteer charitable organization that provides equipment to missionaries across the nation and in more than 180 countries across the world.

Since its beginning, STL has raised more than $220 million. More than $3,000 was raised through participation in Mercedes.

Those pictured in black shirts ran the full marathon (26.2 miles), and those in blue ran the half marathon. The runners were: Derrick Price, Amanda Price, Erric Price, Erron Price, Freed Yarenko, Doug Mims, Tony Burnett and Ebony Sandford.
