Willard Winfred Maddox, 84, a resident of Marbury, died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 25 at noon from Marbury Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Billingsley and the Rev. Tommy Roy officiating.
Burial will follow at Marbury Baptist Church Cemetery, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who devoted his love and care for his family. Mr. Maddox proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a dedicated member and deacon of Marbury Baptist Church.
Mr. Maddox was preceded in death by his former wife, Doris Pittman Maddox; and two grandchildren, Joey Evans and Michael Thommason.
He is survived by his beloved, Doris Jeanette Maddox; six daughters, Bonnie (Guy) McDonald, Joyce (Billy Joe) Godwin, Jeannie Thommason, Teresa (Philip) Evans, Sheila (Tommy) Guy and Angela (Edgar) Cunanan; two step-children, Kenneth (Cynthia) Fuller and Theresa (Ray) Workman; three sisters, Betty Jean Shadden, Margaret Lewis and Patsy Edwards; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and other extended family members.
The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Thursday evening from 6-8.
