Thorsby’s baseball team won its first game of the year, 8-1, at Verbena.

The game was called in the top of the seventh inning due to darkness, though Thorsby had the bases loaded with no outs.

Stephen Mims earned the win on the mound, allowing one run in three innings pitched while striking out four.

Bo Hoffman went 3-for-4 with a double at the plate.

Parker Bryan also had a double. He went 2-for-3 at the plate, as did Blake Elkins. Elkins also took a walk.
