Myrtle L. Cleckler, 87, of Verbena died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.

She was born Friday, Dec. 14, 1923, in Chilton County, daughter of the late James William Mims and the late Charlotte Mims.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Melba Adams, Mrs. Myra Davis and Mrs. Ester Jones of Clanton; son, Mr. Kenneth Cleckler of Clanton; sister, Mrs. Charlotte Lucille Johnson of Clanton; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Horace Cleckler; daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Stewart; and 15 brothers and sisters.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11 at Martin Chapel.

Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel.

Interment will follow in Oak Grove Church of God Cemetery in Clanton.
