Mary Virginia Thomas Baker, 88, of Clanton died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Druid City Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

She was born Friday, May 19, 1922, in Sweetwater, Tenn., daughter of the late Glen Hugh Thomas and the late Delta York Gent Thomas.

She was a retired clerk.

Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Pat (Jimmy) Glenn of Madison; son, Mr. Erskine R. Baker Jr. of Tuscaloosa; granddaughter, Ms. Julie Griffin of Madison; great grandchildren, Ramsey and Thomas Griffin of Madison; three sisters, Ms. Delta Perdue of Winston Salem, NC, Ms. Josephine Rodman of Kansas City, Mo. and Ms. Betty Stratton of Huntland, Tenn.; and brother, Mr. Frank Thomas of Kansas City, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erskine Baker.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Don Graham officiating.
