District Court Judge Rhonda Hardesty has been recognized by the Clanton Evening Lions Club as their 2010 “Pillar of the Community.”
Hardesty was recognized for her hard work, time and dedication to the community. She is serving her third term as district judge in Chilton County.
Danny Carter, from the Clanton Evening Lions Club, had this to say of Hardesty:
“She is actively involved with the local schools in impressing upon young children the need to stay in school, be safe and productive members of our society.
“She works with the court referral programs in an attempt to offer services to rehabilitate those individuals who suffer from drug and alcohol problems and was awarded the prestigious Howell Heflin Award.
“She works tirelessly with defendants who have appeared in her court to offer community service to those who were unable to pay court fines and costs. She personally worked with them early on Saturday morning beginning at 7 a.m. to pick up trash and debris in our cities and county in hopes of helping those defendants and cleaning our county.”
