U.S. Senator Richard Shelby will visit Chilton County next week as part of his annual trek across Alabama.

Shelby (R-Tuscaloosa) will hold a meeting Friday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. at the Jemison Municipal Complex off U.S. 31.

The senator will address the legislative agenda for the 112th Congress as well as other important issues facing the nation and the state.

Following his remarks, Shelby will open the floor to questions and comments from those in attendance. The meeting is open to the public and free of charge.

Shelby has held more than 1,600 county visits since being elected to the U.S. Senate and makes a commitment to hold at least one meeting in each of Alabama’s 67 counties every year.

“Over the years, these meetings have provided an excellent opportunity for area residents to listen and voice their opinions on the activities of our government,” Shelby said. “This will be a great chance to discuss the important issues facing our state and our nation.”
