Wendell Wesley Mims, 55, of Clanton died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born Thursday, Oct. 6, 1955, in Chilton County, son of the late Otis L. Mims and the late Dovie Adams Mims.

He was a carpenter.

Surviving are his sister, Patricia A. Mims of Clanton; brother, Michael Anthony Mims of Clanton; three nieces, Jo (Denver) Cleckley of Clanton, Charlene Mims (Tom Clemons) and Kennetha (Morris) Wilson; two nephews,

Ronald Mims and Blake Mims; and four great nieces, Kassie Benz (Todd) Headley, Niki Mims, Cody Mims and Bethaney Mims.
