The Rev. Mark Edward Barnett Jr., age 77, of Calera, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011.

The Rev. Barnett was a Baptist minister preaching the Gospel for more than 45 years and was a Korean War Army Veteran.   He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Barnett (Peggy) and Wayne Barnett (Cathy); a brother, Lawrence Barnett; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were scheduled to be held Tuesday, Jan. 11 at Rock Springs Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Horton and the Rev. Don Vanderslice officiating.  He will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
